Some time in September/October
I have sent back his QSL-Card with the remark 'Sorry, that was a Pirate'
AB5GH's QSL showed a QSO 9.5.01 20m SSB at 05:22

Sir,
You had sent back my QSL card for station AB5GH.  You had stated you were QRV at the time I stated on the card.  I would like to ask that you search your
log for my callsign.

It also offends me that you think I am a pirate, sir.  I have been licensed
for 11 years and I have sent you proof.  I would not have sent you a card if
I did not hear proof that I worked your station.  Your operator may have for
got to write it down.  I remember the KX2A station that was in from of my
call.  It could have been I was off on time by an hour.

Thanks for your time,

Ron -AB5GH

Hi Ron,
There is no AB5GH in whole log.
Please give me date, time, band and mode of your QSO and you will hear
from me.

Ambrose,

I done some research on my callsign from your webpage.  What I found was
this:
There is no AB5GH in the log, but there is an AB5G and it on 20M.  The call
date/utc is 9 May 01 at 0522 hours.  I may have been off an hour or two as
does usually happen on my logging.  I feel that the operator may have kept
offf my last letter, so instead of logging AB5GH he or she logged AB5G by
accident thereby causing and unknown callsign and a possible pirate
situation.

Thanks again,

Ron AB5GH

Hi Run
- Agalega was not QRV on 9.5.01 from 04:49-19:15 on 20m SSB
- We worked AB5G on 12.5.01 but completly different time
Unfortunatly nearly every time when we went QRT on a band some pirates
tried to continue in the same manner as we did, to the regret of all
hams.
Sorry to tell you this but it's true, even worse in cw and RTTY!

hello again,

Maybe it was a pirate, but I sure needed the island and the operator I talked
to had a german accent.

there have been times during my contacts with dx stations my call has been
repeated wrong, and before I can correct, the operator just moves on.  I am
sorry also to tell you this, but I think that is what happened here. The
operator was worried more about speed than confirming the contact.  So
operator mistake has caused me not to be able to obtain a card from your dx
trip.   I guess technicalities will always prevail.

Ron

Sorry Ron (AB5GH), but I don't confirm contacts which you have made with
pirates. Our operators always tried to copy the calls correctly even in
the bigest pileup.

Ambrose,

I regret saying this and its very unprofessional to say, but on your next
dxpedition, I will most certainly will be one of the stations that will not
contact your operation.

Too many excuses not to issue a card for a simple mistake made by one of your
operators. Never have heard of a pirate dxpedition.   And please dont use the
word pirate, I am not a pirate either.

Sincerely,

Ron - AB5GH

Of course, I do not react on this!  Shame on you, Ron
